Digital Media is designed to give students the opportunity to explore the field of media. Course instruction is provided through lectures and hands-on experiences where students will learn the basics of camera operation, lighting, video editing, and audio manipulation. As a member of a production crew, students learn to produce, direct, act, and operate all equipment related to video production. Final Cut Pro, is our primary outlet for creativity; however, students are trained in the use of Adobe Photoshop and After Effects as well as Sound Track Pro, Motion, and DVD Studio Pro. Students will grow as both artists and technicians, and are challenged to display both their creative and practical skills by developing documentaries, music videos, short narrative films, and public service announcements which are then compiled into their own personal DVD portfolio.
